Community
Development/Local Membership
Grants Awarded
Each year, USTA Georgia and
USTA Southern join together to award Community
Development/Local Membership (CD/LM) grants to
registered Community Tennis Associations (CTAs) in
Georgia. The size of each grant is determined by the
number of USTA members residing in the CTA’s service
area, as well as the number of participants in USTA
programs offered by the CTA. In 2010, USTA Georgia and
USTA Southern awarded over $220,000 to Georgia Community
Tennis Associations.
Your
USTA membership and support of its programs enable USTA
Georgia to provide tennis to thousands of elementary and
middle school children, encourage No-cut high school
teams, financial aid for promising young tennis talent,
Jr. Team Tennis, and adult league play. USTA Georgia
appreciates your support and for making it possible to
provide the grants to our local communities.

Donna
Bailey, Macon Tennis Association's Executive Director,
accepts $6,000 from Helen Martin, USTA Georgia's
Executive Vice President. |

2009 USTA Southern
Section Annual Award Winners
The USTA Southern Section has a comprehensive awards
program that annually recognizes excellence on and off
the tennis court. Each year, award winners are honored
at an awards luncheon held during the USTA Southern
Section Annual Meeting in January.
The USTA Southern Section Awards Subcommittee accepts
individual awards nominations. If you wish to submit a
nomination for a Southern Award, it is best to contact
your state office for direction. Some award winners are
not selected by the Awards Subcommittee and therefore
nomination forms are not available or accepted.
